Sony Nex-C3 được biết đến như một máy ảnh ống kính rời nhỏ nhất và nhẹ nhất trên thế giới hiện nay được trang bị APS-C sensor cho phép chiếc máy ảnh nhỏ bé này có đợc chất lượng hình ảnh không thua gì một máy ảnh DSLR thông thường. Kế thừa các đặc điểm của dòng Nex-3, Sản phẩm Sony NEX-C3 gồm có một số tính năng vượt trội sau: 16.2 Megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS Sensor, quay film 72o HD, 5.5fps, autofocus ới 25 điểm lấy nét với chức năng tự động nhận biết độ tương phản ở chủ thể, màn hình xoay LCD 3 inch linh họat với 921,000 chấm phân giải, chụp được 400 ảnh cho 1 lần sạc pin. Bạn có 3 lựa chọn về màu sắc với sản phẩm Sony Nex-C3 là Xám, đen và hồng. Đi cùng nó là bộ lens kit 18-55 giá khoản 650$ và / £499 cho thị trường châu âu.
Sony Nex-C3 được thiết kế gần giống với dòng sản phẩm Nex-3 năm ngoái. Do đó nó thừa hưởng nhiều tính năng của sản phẩm trước đó. Sony Nex-C3 được thiết kế theo hình khối chữ nhật làm cho chúng ta có cảm giác như dòng Ricoh's GXR. Mặc dù được thiết kế nhỏ hơn 6% và nhẹ hơn tới 225g so với người tiền nhiệm, nhưng Sony NEX-C3 vẫn cho người sử dụng cảm giác rắn chắc khi cầm trong tay.
Với màn hình xoay 3 inch LCD cho phép bạn xoay lên, xuống đồng nghĩa với việc cho phép bạn sáng tác ở nhiều góc độ khác nhau. Ngoài ra việc cho phép quay film 72op với chất lượng âm thanh Stereo sẽ làm thỏa mãn yêu cầu của người dùng Sony NEX-C3.
Với những gì sản phẩm Sony NEX-C3 mang lại, Sony hy vọng sẽ chiến thắng các đối thủ của mình khi trình bày sản phẩm NEX-C3 như là một một máy ảnh ống rời nhỏ nhất và nhẹ nhất trên thế giới cho đến thời điểm này (Sony NEX-C3 nặng 225g và 33mm chiều sâu). Bên cạnh đó với việc cho phép độ nhạy sáng ở mức ừ 200 ISO tới tối đa 12800 ISO còn là một lợi thế của Sony NEX-C3 với các đối thủ của nó.
